Some of the most commonly reported problems with a Jeep Patriot include water leaks from the front or rear roof, and the engine does not start due to a wireless control module fault. People also commonly report difficulty shifting the manual transmission of the Jeep Patriot.
One of the most common issues with a Jeep Patriot is water leaking from the roof. When this occurs, a technician should inspect the sunroof and roof ditch of the sports utility vehicle. Special attention should be placed on all plugs and grommets, and the roof seams should be resealed. The sunroof drain tubes should be replaced if necessary. The repair for this issue usually involves replacing the third, fourth, fifth and reverse gear synchronizer rings. Regular maintenance is also something a Jeep Patriot owner needs to do including oil changes, brakes and replacing fluids. Home World View. Is the WCM covered by jeep or do you pay for it. Any answers? Any guesses? Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published. The PCM is what is often referred to as your Jeep's "computer. If your Jeep's PCM fails, you can expect your vehicle to exhibit a variety of symptoms, including the Jeep running badly, error lights appearing on the dashboard and a fairly wide assortment of electrical problems.
Fortunately, problems with operation of the PCM unit can be traced to a few known causes. If a short occurs in your vehicle's power supply or wiring, or if your vehicle is somehow shocked, your Jeep's PCM may not recover from the jolt.
Too much electricity will effectively fry your Jeep's PCM. According to AA1Car, this is commonly caused by a problem with either the solenoid or the actuator circuit. Environmental factors such as corrosion, thermal stress and vibrations can play a part in the failure of your PCM. Also, if you like to take your Jeep off-road, be aware that submerging the PCM in water or mud can lead to its sudden failure.

I told the dealer and he says not to worry, it will take a few miles for it to reset.
